"Protecting women's rights is a step towards social justice"

In order to implement the principle of "Gender equality" SDG - 5 and within the framework of the 90th anniversary of Kaznu, students of the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Journalism and under the guidance of senior teachers of the Department of Civil Law and Civil Procedure, Labor Law Urisbayeva A. A. and the Department of Press and Electronic Media M. S. Nurmanova held an event on the topic "Protection of rights women are a step towards social justice."

The event was held in the building of the Faculty of Journalism and gathered the active participation of journalism students, teachers and invited guests, among whom were representatives of human rights organizations.

The purpose of the event is to explain to the participants the legal and social aspects of protecting women's rights, raise awareness of the need to ensure gender equality in society and discuss measures to prevent social injustice and violations of women's rights.

The following issues were discussed during the event:

1. Women's rights: legal framework and international experience. The participants were told about the international UN conventions aimed at protecting women's rights, as well as about the policy of gender equality in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2. Gender equality and social justice. It was discussed how important it is to protect women's equal rights in areas such as education, work, security and personal life.

The students divided into groups and presented their projects aimed at protecting women's rights. Invited experts from human rights organizations shared their experiences and answered relevant questions.

The participants deepened their knowledge of gender equality issues and realized the importance of protecting women's rights. Proposals and an action plan have been developed to prevent discrimination and injustice against women. The emphasis is placed on the importance of continuing such events for the formation of public opinion.
