November 25 International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

At the Department of Fundamental Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine and Healthсare, al-Farabi KazNU, an event was held dedicated to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women as part of achieving Sustainable Development Goal №5: "Gender Equality."

November 25 is annually observed as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. This day serves as a reminder of the global issue of violence and discrimination faced by women worldwide. The event focused on raising awareness about violence against women, discussing solutions, and promoting the principles of equality and justice.

Goals of the event:

• To draw public attention to the issue of violence against women.
• To present initiatives and programs aimed at protecting women and ensuring their rights.

The event was organized by the Lecturers of the Department of Fundamental medicine N. Ibysheva, M. Khassidan, N. Urnesh, A. Akimniyazova and T.A. Akhayeva. First-year students of the "Medicine" educational program actively participated in the event.

During the event, current issues of gender policy, the state of women’s rights, and measures to strengthen the role of women in social, economic, cultural, and public life were highlighted.

Participants concluded that gender equality is not only a fundamental human right but also an essential condition for achieving sustainable development and peace in society.
