Meeting on «Transparency and ethics: how can students contribute to the fight against corruption»
On November 30, 2024, a meeting was held at al-Farabi Kazakh National University withTumenbayev Sabyr Ashirbayuly, an expert on anti–corruption expertise of draft regulatory legalacts (NPA), a certified RESV specialist and a leading specialist in the implementation of the international standard ISO 37001.
The event was organized by the curators of the 4th year of the specialties «Pedagogy and Psychology» and «Social Pedagogy and Self-knowledge» K.A. Esenova and E.T. Bayarystanovaas part of the implementation of the 16th UN Sustainable Development Goal «Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions» and is aimed at forming an anti-corruption culture and supporting youth initiatives to combat corruption in the educational environment and society.
During the meeting, topical issues of the impact of corruption on justice in society, economic stability and the level of trust in social institutions were discussed. S.A. Tumenbayevspoke in detail about the principles of anti-corruption education, emphasizing the importance of promoting the ideology of integrity and the principle of «zero tolerance» to corruption.
The students actively participated in the dialogue, asked questions about practical methods of fighting corruption and how the younger generation can contribute to the creation of a transparent and fair system. The meeting was an important step in strengthening the anti-corruption culture and raising awareness of the importance of personal responsibility in the fight against corruption.
