On November 30, 2024, the lecturers of the Department of Foreign Languages – G.A. Orzayeva, M.T. Dzhamaldinova, K.T. Muldabekova, K.M. Yesenamanova, M.S. Almugambetova, and A. Kassymbekova – organized a roundtable discussion titled “Honest Citizen in Kazakh Society” within the framework of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s 2024 Address to the People of Kazakhstan.
The event was attended by undergraduate and graduate students from the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, senior lecturer Inayatullah Rahimi from the Faculty of History at Badakhshan University (Afghanistan), and graduate students from Altay Prefecture in China specializing in “Educational Management” – Nazerke Maidannur and Aizhan Murat.
The participants thoroughly discussed the concept of an “honest citizen,” shared their thoughts, asked each other questions, and engaged in lively discussions. First-year students of the “Cultural Studies” program presented a video they had created on the topic of honesty and an honest society.
They also recited the works and quotes on honesty by great Kazakh writers and public figures, such as Abai Kunanbayev, Shakarim Kudaiberdiev, and Akhmet Baitursynov, in English.
Summing up the event, the participants emphasized that building an honest and just society requires every person to strive to be an honest citizen. Only by believing in honesty can people create a fair society.
