Lecture on "Strategies for building an academic scientific career"

On December 3, 2024, the Al-Farabi Scientific Library hosted a lecture by Abel Polese, a researcher at the Institute of International Regulation and Reconstruction of the University of Dublin, on "Strategies for building an academic scientific career" for young scientists.

The dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science Meirbayev Bekzhan Berikbayevich opened the meeting with his opening speech. Also, the head of the Department of training and certification of scientific personnel Kuanova Laura Aibolovna noted the importance of this meeting. The main organizer of the meeting was the head of the Department of Political Science and Political Technologies Nasimova Gulnara Orlenbaevna.

The professor spoke about the trends in science, about the important stages of the publication process-the preparation of a scientific article. Much attention was paid to the lecture's academic reputation, the choice of the journal, its politics and reputation. Abel focused on the process of reviewing articles in foreign journals, the reasons for rejecting articles and drew attention to the culture of research ethics.
