Kazakhstan strengthens its position on the Trans-Caspian route: a working trip of teachers of the Department of IR and WE to the STEM Analytical Center, Baku, Azerbaijan Republic
From November 23 to 26, 2024, teachers of the Department of International Relations and World Economy of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Apsattarova G.A., Sultanmuratov N.N., Parpiev S.M. and Mukhametzhan A. visited the STEM analytical center located in Baku. The main purpose of the visit was to analyze the challenges and opportunities of the Trans-Caspian route for the national interests of Kazakhstan for 2024-2026, as well as to strengthen scientific and expert cooperation.
As part of the business trip, the delegation inspected key facilities of the port infrastructure and logistics hubs of Azerbaijan. Special attention was paid to their role in ensuring international transport flows and the potential for integration with the transport system of Kazakhstan.
The work at the STEM analytical center included round tables and discussions on the modernization and digitalization of the Trans-Caspian route. The Kazakh side presented a national strategy for its development, and also discussed with leading experts of the region issues of increasing the competitiveness of the route, its integration into international transport corridors and prospects for joint scientific research.
As a result of the visit, recommendations were developed to strengthen the role of Kazakhstan as a key link in the Trans-Caspian route. In addition, agreements have been reached on the implementation of joint educational and scientific projects, including the publication of a joint scientific journal.
The business trip to Baku was an important step towards strengthening international cooperation, increasing scientific activity and realizing Kazakhstan's strategic interests in the field of transport logistics and regional development.
