On December 03, 2024, within the framework of SDG-16 «Peace, justice and effective institutions», as well as the international campaign «16 days of active action against violence», a meeting with young people under the motto «Be a force for good» was held in the format of a dialogue platform. The event was organized under the auspices of the Union of Crisis Centers in Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the problem of domestic violence and the willingness of society to speak openly about it were discussed.
Dauren Merkeev, a journalist and a well-known personality in the media space, shared his professional experience related to covering the problems of domestic violence. He stressed the importance of maintaining a balance between legal and ethical norms, between the desire to «expose» the problem and understanding the consequences for victims of violence.
The event was attended by students of the Law Faculty of al-Farabi Kazakh National University under the guidance of the teaching staff of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law (Useinova K.R., Tursynkulova D.A., Kultemirova L.T.).
The topic relevant in society caused a lively discussion and the desire of the children to understand these or other issues more deeply. The unconditional conclusion of the event was the conviction that the problem should be talked about. This will help you understand the reasons and, perhaps, find answers to difficult questions.
