Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan
On December 5, 2024, the senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies of the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, E.K. Bekturova, together with the 4th-year students of "6B02303 – Foreign Philology (Western Languages)" major organized an event on the topic: "Kazakhstan’s Independence Day" within the framework of SDG 4: "Quality Education."
The event aimed at cultivating a sense of patriotism, civic duty, and responsibility for the future among students.
Kazakhstan’s Independence Day is the main national holiday of the Republic of Kazakhstan, celebrated annually on December 16. On this day in 1991, the Supreme Council of Kazakhstan adopted the law on the Independence and State Sovereignty of the Republic.
The courageous youth of Kazakhstan, who raised the banner of independence, will forever remain in our hearts. Today, Kazakhstan is recognized worldwide as a sovereign nation. Our duty is to honor our national symbols, contribute to the inclusion of our independent state among civilized nations, and strive for the pinnacle of cultural development.
The event dedicated to Independence Day concluded with the inspiring address "I Believe in the Youth" by prominent figures such as Shakarim, Abai Kunanbayev, Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, Magzhan Zhumabayev, Sherkhan Murtaza, Dinmukhamed Kunayev, and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
