Pre-defense of the dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) of Baikara Barshagul Tenizbaykyzy

On December 4, 2024, a pre-defense of the dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) of Baikara Barshagul Tenizbaykyzy on the topic "Genotyping of avian influenza strains common in the Republic of Kazakhstan" was held under the educational program "8D05105 - Biotechnology".

The dissertation is devoted to the identification and isolation of avian influenza virus strains circulating in the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2020-2022, the study of their virological and molecular genetic properties and the identification of signs of phylogenetic relationship in order to clarify its distribution and evolution. As a result of the study, isolates of avian influenza circulating in the territory of Kazakhstan were identified, the complete genome of these isolates was sequenced and a phylogenetic analysis was carried out. These data open up prospects for the development of new diagnostic test systems and vaccines against the influenza A virus.
