International Internship for Scientists from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University at Hokkaido University
Candidate of Biological Sciences, Professor Z.A. Inelova and PhD A.A. Rysmagambetova are undergoing an international internship at Hokkaido University (Sapporo, Japan). The purpose of the internship is to study the experience of Japanese universities (Hokkaido University and Rakuno Gakuen University) in the field of remote sensing of the Earth, environmental monitoring and water resources.
Hokkaido University is one of the best universities in Japan, is a member of the International Association of Universities (IAU), OpenCourseWare Consortium (OCW). In the International QS Ranking, the University ranks 173rd in the world, and 77th according to QS by Subject. The internship takes place in the Resource Management Laboratory. The research experience of applying remote sensing technology and environmental monitoring at Hokkaido University is studied. During the training, practical work is carried out to assess the risks of the ecological state in regions exposed to anthropogenic factors.
The research internship program covers the solution of the task of the SDG 6 initiative “Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all”, SDG 15 “Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems” and SDG 17 “Partnership for sustainable development”.
