Meeting with the Readers`s Club

On October 19, Argynbek Kunanbay, a linguist and faculty member of the Philological Department at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, organized a meeting with bibliophile students. The discussion focused on the connection between language and cognition, the impact of reading and writing on the brain, stylistics, and the etiquette of writing.
The lecture was attended by young people interested in Abai’s philosophy, his use of language, and developing a passion for reading and writing. The discussion was enriched with research on the neurobiology of reading, the distinction between reading a lot and reading many books, and the influence of reading on human empathy and attention, presented through thoughtful explorations.
