The role of summits in International Relations

On November 28, 2024, a debate on the topic "The role of summits in International Relations" was held at the Department of Diplomatic Translation of the Faculty of International Relations. The event was organized by second-year students majoring in International Relations. (Kazakh group). The purpose of the event was to develop students’ analytical skills in addressing global issues. The supporters highlighted the importance of summits in strengthening international cooperation, emphasizing their role in resolving global challenges, citing examples such as the G20 and the UN General Assembly. The opposing team criticized the inefficiency and formality of summits, suggesting a focus on regional cooperation instead. The discussion was both informative and engaging. Students exchanged views and analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of summits in international relations.
