SDG-4. A new course on data journalism has been published

A new course on data journalism has been published. The book, adapted for universities in Central Asia, is part of UNESCO’s journalism training series.

The research was conducted within the framework of UNESCO’s International Programme for the Development of Communication. I am particularly delighted that this publication will serve as the primary textbook for Kazakhstan’s first master’s program in “7M03201 Data Journalism,” launched under coordination in 2019. To date, 68 graduates have successfully completed this program at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The book’s presentation will take place on December 10, 2024, at the UN Plaza Almaty conference hall in Almaty, as part of the conference titled “Data Journalism for Sustainable Development: Goals, Challenges, and Human Rights in Central Asia.”
