KazNU celebrated the 100th anniversary of academician Abduali Kaidar

The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the international congress "Humanitarian knowledge in the context of culture – civilization – globality: language, ethnicity, society", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of statesman, turkologist-linguist, academician Abduali Tuganbayuly Kaidar.
The event was attended by advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Malik Otarbayev, deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darkhan Kydyrali, statesman and public figure, poet-playwright Nurlan Orazalin, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev, professor, Head of the Department of turkish language and literature of the Aegean University Mustafa Oner, director of the Institute of Linguistics named after A.Baitursynova Anar Fazylzhan, daughters of Abduali Tuganbayuly Assel and Zhanna Kaidar, foreign scientists, philologists, turkologists, faculty and students of the university.
At the congress, Malik Otarbayev read out a congratulatory letter from Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. "Abduali Kaidar studied current problems of linguistics and wrote many significant works. For a long time he worked at the A.Baitursynov Institute of Linguistics, went from an ordinary employee to the first head. The academician took part in the intensification of the work of terminological and onomastic commissions under the government. He created the international society of the kazakh language and became the first chairman of the organization", - the message said.
Congratulatory letters from Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev and President of the International turkic academy Shahin Mustafayev were also read out.
In his speech, Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev noted that Abduali Kaidar is a figure who has made an invaluable contribution to the development of linguistics, including philology and Turkology. The rector said: "Abduali Tuganbayuly was an outstanding linguist. He was directly involved in the recognition of the kazakh language as the state language. Abduali Kaidar is our respected teacher, mentor to many scientists working in the field of linguistics and literary studies. He lectured at KazNU, made a significant contribution to the development of the Department of turkology and language theory. He educated many students, was the head of candidates and doctors of sciences. He participated in the development of the draft law "on language", adopted in the early years of our independence".
Deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darkhan Kydyrali made a speech during the meeting. The deputy of the Senate said: "Abduali Tuganbayuly was a man of continuous search and work, unshakeable will and character. We can say that the scientist was a "golden man" for our native language. It would be fair and more correct to call him that, because he was born near Issyk Kurgan, fought for the status of the Kazakh language, founded the Kazakh language society, stood at the origins of ethnolinguistics and accomplished great things".
The congress discussed scientific paradigms in kazakh linguistics, philology, and turkology, which have their roots in the scientific legacy of academician Abduali Tugambayuly Kaidar. Presentations were made by Mustafa Oner, Nurlan Orazalin, Jamal Mankeeva, Sherubai Kurmanbaev, Karimbek Kurmanaliev, and others.
During the event, a number of books and collections were presented, including: Abduali Kaidar's "Erteñin oyla eliñnıñ", "Khalyq danalygy", A. Seytbekova's dictionary "Gulistan bit-turki" translated by Saif Sarai, G. Mamyrbek's "Khosrau ya Shirin" translated by Qutba, and the congress proceedings "Humanitarian science in the context of culture – civilization – globality: language, ethnos, society".
After the end of the plenary session, the work of the conference continued in thematic sections.
