The possibilities of enzymology in solving the problems of SDG 3. "Ensuring a healthy lifestyle and promoting well-being for all at any age

On December 09, 2024, at 10.00-10:50 a.m. at 519 and from 11:00-11:50 in 335 classrooms of GUK-6, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Shoinbekova S.A., PhD, senior lecturer of the Department of Biotechnology Doktyrbai G., Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Atabaeva S.D., Doctor of Biological Sciences., Professor Kenzhebaeva S.S. in the trajectory of studying the discipline «Applied Enzymology» conducted a lecture with 3rd year students of the specialty «06B05103 – Biotechnology» Within the framework of the SDGs on the topic: «The possibilities of enzymology in solving the problems of SDG 3. "Ensuring a healthy lifestyle and promoting well-being for all at any age».

The purpose of the event: to explain to students the possibilities of applying the achievements of biotechnology and enzymology in solving the problems of ensuring a healthy lifestyle and promoting the well-being of people of all ages. Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Shoinbekova S. A. made a presentation, told the story of the emergence of this program and explained the essence of the program «Sustainable Development Goals». Then the students' reports were heard: «A healthy lifestyle is the bar of modern youth»; «Bad habits and human health»; «The role of enzymology in the diagnosis and treatment of social diseases»; «Modern development of enzyme diagnostics and enzyme therapy»; «Biotechnology in solving SDG 3: the use of enzymes in genetic engineering».

The students discussed with great interest issues related to ensuring public health, the contribution of enzymology to solving this problem, discussed the shortage of clean water, environmental protection, involvement in sports and a healthy lifestyle. An active discussion took place.
