Birlik Sagitzhanov became the winner of the "Tәуелсіздік ұрпақтары" grant competition for 2024

Birlik Sagitzhanov, Senior Lecturer-Advisor at the Department of Mechanics, Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi, was recognized as the winner of the 2024 "Tәуелсіздік ұрпақтары" grant competition. The final meeting of the competition commission was recently held.
The "Tәуелсіздік ұрпақтары" grant is awarded annually by the order of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as an effective tool for identifying and supporting talented youth.
In 2024, the commission selected 30 projects from six categories that scored the highest points. Birlik Sagitzhanov became the winner in the "Science" category, receiving high praise for his project.
The grant award ceremony will take place in Astana on the eve of Kazakhstan's Independence Day. Winners will receive financial support from the state in the amount of 3 million tenge for the implementation of their projects.
It is worth noting that this year, 1284 applications were submitted to the competition, 897 of which were accepted. Among them, 495 were in the "Business" category, 62 in "Science", 107 in "Culture", 94 in "Information Technologies", 66 in "Media", and 73 in "Volunteering".
This victory is directly related to several important Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular SDG 4: Quality Education, as the grant supports the development of scientific projects and educational initiatives. It also aligns with SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, as supporting scientific research and innovations helps strengthen the technological base of the country. Finally, the victory in the competition corresponds to SDG 10: Reduced Inequality, as this grant ensures equal opportunities for talented youth to implement their projects.
