An International Scientific Seminar on the topic: “The Psychology of Characters in Novel «Zhalyn by Zeynolla Kabdolov » ” was held

On December 12, 2024, within the framework of  SDG 4 “Quality Education,” the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory organized an international scientific seminar on the topic:  “The Psychology of Characters in Novel Zhalyn by Zeynolla Kabdolov.” The seminar was arranged by  the first-year doctoral students of  “8D02304 – Literary Studies”  major and Doctor of Philology, Professor Saule Yerzhanova. The PhD  students presented a scientific project as the final result of the course Psychological Literary Studies by analyzing the psychology of the main characters in the novel Zhalyn.

The  foreign and domestic scholars, educators, writers, and PhD  students took part in the seminar. Among the participants were: Bagdat Tolepbergenovich Orazov, Senior Lecturer specializing in  the Kazakh Philology and working at  the Department of Russian Language and Literature of  Gulistan State University; Tursynay Abdigaziyevna Tortkulbayeva, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Kazakh Language and Literature, Ajiniyaz; Yerzhan Alkaya Nukus State Pedagogical Institute, PhD, Professor, and Head of the Department at Mevlana and Firat Universities (Turkey). Professor Yerzhan Alkaya made  a presentation on the teaching career and creative path of writer Zeynolla Kabdolov and wished success to the PhD  students in their scientific projects. The PhD  students analyzed the psychology of the main characters in the novel Zhalyn, shared their interpretations, and exchanged views with the participants.

Other notable participants included: Tursynay Abdykadyrova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of Taraz State University; Sailau Kozhagulov, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor at I. Zhansugurov Zhetysu State University; Sherizat Arman, Poet, Literary Critic, Master of Pedagogical Sciences from Astana, and Laureate of the State Youth Award “Daryn”; Zhaksylik Alikhan, Writer and Laureate of the State Youth Award “Daryn.” Faculty members from the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory, including Candidates of Philological Sciences Zholdasbek Mambetov and Yerkhan Karbozov, also took an active part in the event. Zholdasbek Mambetov expressed gratitude to the seminar organizers and highlighted the scientific significance of the psychological analyses conducted by the PhD students.

The topic of the international scientific seminar was thoroughly explored through the  students’ analyses, with key issues of character psychology discussed. The seminar’s moderator, Doctor of Philology, Professor Saule Yerzhanova, thanked the guests, faculty teaching staff, and PhD  students for their participation and active engagement in the discussions.
