On December 17, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Middle East and South Asia, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Galiya Amzekyzy Kambarbekova, received the Farabi International Award (FIA) from the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian. The Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran annually holds a competition for the Farabi International Award, aimed at developing Islamic humanities. The award is presented for outstanding works at both the young (under 35) and senior levels, covering domestic and international fields. The domestic field includes all works by Iranians, regardless of their current place of residence and profession, while the international field includes works produced by individuals who are not citizens of Iran.
It is worth noting that Iran has two international awards: the Farabi International Award in the field of humanities and the Khwarizmi International Award in the field of natural sciences. The Khwarizmi International Award was previously received by Kazakhstani mathematician Askar Zhumadiladyev.
