As part of the "Partnership for Sustainable Development" section of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a meeting with the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty was held at the Department of Middle East and South Asia
On December 18, the Department of Middle East and South Asia welcomed Mr. Mohsen Faghani, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty. The meeting was organized in connection with the conclusion of Mr. Faghani's diplomatic mission. The Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Ms. N.B. Yem, expressed gratitude to the Consul General for his close cooperation with the faculty and his contributions to strengthening partnerships in higher education and science. In turn, Mr. Mohsen Faghani highlighted Iran’s continued readiness to support the teaching of the Persian language in Kazakhstan. He also mentioned that this topic was recently discussed during his meeting with the Deputy Akim of Zhetysu Region.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Hossein Aghazadeh, head of the Cultural Center at the Consulate General of Iran in Almaty, Ms. D.M. Kokeeva, Head of the Department of Middle East and South Asia, and faculty members of the department.
