Harmony through Art: KazNU Students Celebrate World Art Day

13 december, 2024

As part of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aimed at promoting cultural exchange and supporting creative initiatives, on December 10, 2024, students of the PG-13 group from the Pre-University Education Faculty of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized a creative event dedicated to World Art Day.

Foreign students from China, under the guidance of curator-advisor Dinara Erbosynkyzy, prepared a vibrant and inspiring program, which included musical performances, theatrical productions, and the display of artwork. The event also featured participation from students of various faculties, who shared their creative achievements.

The event began with a formal welcome speech, during which participants expressed their gratitude to Kazakhstan for the opportunity to develop their talents and exchange cultural experiences with people from different countries. In her speech, the curator-advisor emphasized the importance of art as a universal language that unites people and strengthens cultural ties.

Special attention was given to the role of art in promoting the values of peace, harmony, and unity. Students shared how art can express feelings, experiences, and ideas, and how it fosters mutual understanding between nations. As part of the event, students presented works dedicated to the themes of friendship and unity, as well as paintings reflecting the diversity of cultures and traditions.

The creative part of the program included a concert featuring compositions in various languages, theatrical scenes where students showcased the importance of cultural exchange and respect for the traditions of other peoples, and an exhibition of paintings and photographs dedicated to the themes of peace and art.

The event concluded with a joint art workshop, where students created collaborative paintings symbolizing the unity and diversity of the world. This became a symbol of how art unites, inspires, and helps people find common ground despite differences in culture and nationality.

The organization of such events contributes to popularizing art as a means of intercultural communication and developing students' creative abilities, which aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals and the university’s mission aimed at fostering culturally educated and tolerant global citizens.

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University continues to actively implement projects aimed at developing creative industries and strengthening international cultural exchange.
