On December 10, 2024, third-year doctoral student Zhumashev Darkhan at the Faculty of Medicine and Health held a meaningful conversation with first-year students studying in the specialties of Physical Culture and Sports (FCC) and Sport. The theme of the meeting was "Innovation and technology in the fight against hunger," during which important aspects related to the model of sustainable development were considered.
SDG 2 (End Hunger) aims to end all forms of malnutrition and hunger by 2030 and ensure that everyone has adequate food throughout the year, especially children. Chronic malnutrition, which affects an estimated 155 million children worldwide, also slows children's brain and physical development and puts them at further risk of death, disease and failure in adulthood. Starving people are less productive and easily susceptible to disease, so they will not be able to improve their livelihoods.
Innovations in agriculture were also considered to ensure increased food production and subsequent reduction of food losses and food waste.
Concluded that through science, technology and innovation, we can transform agri-food systems through better production, better nutrition, better environment and better lives, leaving no one behind.
