22 november, 2024

On November 12 and 21, 2024, as part of the implementation of SDGs 4 and 13, faculty members from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology participated in training sessions organized for students and residents of the cities of Talgar and Esik. These training sessions were aimed at raising awareness about various types of emergencies commonly occurring in Kazakhstan and familiarizing participants with response measures at the legislative and infrastructure levels.

As experts, the faculty provided detailed information on the classification of emergency situations, including natural and man-made disasters, and their potential impact on various aspects of daily life. Special attention was given to analyzing legislative mechanisms governing actions during emergencies and assessing existing warning systems and consequences mitigation within state and regional infrastructure.

The training sessions provided participants with the opportunity to ask questions and receive recommendations on safety during emergency situations, which contributed to a deeper understanding of risk management processes and effective responses to such events.
