Sayasat Nurbek awarded KazNU scientists
As part of the 90th anniversary of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, awarded the university's professors and teachers with special awards.
Congratulating the university staff on their 90th anniversary, the minister shared his thoughts on the history of the university. The minister said: "Looking back at the history of the university, you can see interesting facts. So, in the mid-1930s, under the Soviet regime, the first scientific student club was established at KazNU. And in 1972, a computer center was opened. During the war, scientists and students also made a great contribution to the development of education and science. I recently visited universities in the United Arab Emirates and was surprised that the history of educational institutions there does not exceed 30 years. There is no scientific system or laboratories in the country. Scientific schools are just being formed. This shows that the existing educational institutions, which have almost a century of history in our country, are the leaders of the academic environment and science in the country".
The Minister presented special awards to KazNU scientists. The badge "For merits in the development of science" was awarded to 19 scientists and teachers. Nine teachers who showed creative activity in raising the status of the Kazakh language received the badge "Akhmet Baitursynuly", two scientists received the badge "For their contribution to the development of their native language".
At the award ceremony, Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev congratulated all the award winners and presented the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek with the "Al-Farabi" gold medal in honor of the 90th anniversary of the University. He also presented "Al-Farabi" gold medals to 55 university professors and awarded 43 university staff with "Eren enbegi ushin" KazNU medals.
Congratulations to all the scientists and staff of the University on their high awards!
