Professor Klara Naldibekovna Makasheva, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Celebrates 70 Years

On January 10, 2025, an expanded meeting of the Academic Council of the Faculty of International Relations at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Klara Naldibekovna Makasheva.
The ceremony was led by Zhuldyz Talgatkyzy Sairambayeva, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The opening congratulatory speech was delivered by S.K. Suatai, Vice Rector for Social Development of the university. On behalf of the Rector, J.K. Tuimebayev, Sabit Kurmanzhanuly congratulated Professor Klara Naldibekovna Makasheva on her milestone birthday and presented her with the Al-Farabi Silver Medal.
In recognition of her significant contributions to the fields of science and technology, as well as her achievements in training scientific personnel, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan awarded her the honorary title “Excellence in Science,” along with a Certificate of Honor. She also received a letter of gratitude from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for her substantial contributions to the development of education and science, her noble work, and her dedicated service.


Gulnara Serikbayevna Baykushikova, Head of the Department of International Relations and World Economy, presented a report titled “On the Scientific and Pedagogical Activities of Professor K.N. Makasheva.”
Congratulations were also conveyed on behalf of Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Murat Nurtleu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan; and Dauren Abayev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation.
A documentary video showcasing the life and professional achievements of Professor Klara Naldibekovna Makasheva was then presented. Following the film, video greetings from her international colleagues and alumni of the Faculty of International Relations were shown.
The event concluded with heartfelt congratulations and warm wishes from department heads, professors, and faculty members of the Faculty of International Relations.
