THE FACULTY OF ORIENTAL STUDIES HAS COMPLETED THE FIRST STAGE OF THE REPUBLICAN COMPETITION OF STUDENTS' RESEARCH WORKS.

On January 10, 2025, the Faculty of Oriental Studies held a meeting of the commission of the 1st round of the intra-university stage of the Republican competition of students' research works in the specialty "6B02207-Oriental Studies". The meeting was chaired by Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Chinese Studies Mukametkhanuly N., the commission included Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of the Far East Balakaeva L.T., Senior Lecturer of the Department of Turkology and History of the East Iliyas N.K., PhD, Senior Lecturer of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia Tyulegenov K.M. The main goal of this competition is to stimulate research activities and educational and cognitive activities of students.

10 works on priority areas and current problems of Oriental studies were submitted to the competition. The works were reviewed by the commission members for 10 days and were highly appreciated. Each work is an independent completed study of young scientists. In the process of making a decision, the commission members relied on the principles of fairness, the assessment of the works was made exclusively from the totality of the novelty and relevance of the work, the completeness of the research and the modern approach to the work. As a result, the 1st place of the 1st round of the intra-university stage of the Republican competition of students' research works in the specialty "6B02207-Oriental Studies" was taken by a 3rd year student of the Department of Chinese Studies Yermakhan Saken. Two second places were taken by a 3rd year student of the Department of Far East - Maratkyzy Marzhan and a 4th year student of the Department of Turkology and History of the East - Muratova Albina. 3rd place was taken by three students of the Department of Turkology and History of the East - Salimbay Asel, Asan Akerke, Kubayt Aruzhan.
