International Roundtable: Women's Issues in Buddhism and Buddhism in Russia

On January 28, 2025, an international roundtable was held in the conference hall of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science. This event was organized in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals: "Quality Education" and "Partnerships for Sustainable Development."
Speaker: Lyubov Borisovna Chetvyrova – Doctor of Philosophy, Professor at the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Humanities, Samara State University.
In her lecture, Lyubov Borisovna Chetvyrova analyzed the issue of gender equality in Buddhism, the history of women's monastic ordination, and the history of women's Buddhist monasteries in Mongolia and Buryatia.
The event was attended by Acting Head of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies S.M. Kaupenbaeva, Deputy Head M.R. Baltymova, U.A. Tungatova, Professor of the Department of Philosophy Z.S. Aidarbekov, as well as doctoral students and third-year faculty students. Students and faculty members actively engaged with the speaker, asking questions and receiving insightful responses.
