SDG 15 – Conservation of Terrestrial Ecosystems: "Protecting Birds – Protecting Nature"

On January 29, second-year students of the Geodesy and Cartography program at the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics, Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, under the initiative of academic advisors Z.K. Sarsembekova and S.O. Tumazhanova, organized an event as part of Sustainable Development Goal 15, dedicated to the conservation of terrestrial ecosystems. The students visited the First President's Park of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where they replenished bird feeders and nests with food, providing support to birds during the winter season.
This initiative helped students gain a deeper understanding of the importance of living in harmony with nature. In addition to feeding the birds, they discussed their role in the ecosystem, highlighting the significance of such activities in fostering environmental responsibility and nurturing a sense of appreciation for the natural world.
Birds are an integral part of our environment, and their protection is the responsibility of every individual. By learning to care for nature today, we ensure the preservation of a rich ecosystem and beautiful landscapes for future generations. Let us all contribute to the protection of birds and the environment together!
