The New Logo of the Faculty of Pre-University Education of аl-Farabi Kazakh National University: Symbolism and Meaning

       In celebration of the 90th anniversary of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, on December 30, 2024, in accordance with the decision of the Scientific Council (Protocol No. 5), a decision was made to adopt a new logo for the Faculty of Pre-University Education. This step aims to reflect the faculty's renewal, its entry into a new historical phase, its vision for the future, and to showcase its achievements in foreign language teaching and education through new symbolism.

    The systematic changes implemented during the faculty's new historical development period and the change of logo coincided with the 40th anniversary of its establishment. The new logo design carries deep symbolic meaning. The upper part of the new logo features an open book, representing the source of knowledge and education. At the top of the logo, the name of the university (FARABI UNIVERSITY – in English) is displayed, along with stars on either side, symbolizing the eternal quest for knowledge and science. These elements emphasize the prestigious status of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and its place in the global education system.

    In the lower part of the logo is the name of the Faculty of Pre-University Education (FACULTY OF PRE-UNIVERSITY EDUCATION – in English), which indicates the faculty’s significant role in language teaching and its aspiration to achieve a new quality in the field of education.

    The center of the new logo depicts a globe with the flags of various countries. This symbolizes the faculty's targeted aspiration to teach the Kazakh and Russian languages, promote, present, and spread Kazakh culture across the globe. The globe suggests the faculty's international recognition and its active role in the global educational space.

    Additionally, the founding year of the faculty is written in the center of the logo, which serves as a reminder of its history and development. This element highlights the fact that the faculty is now a leader in language teaching and education, as well as the significant work done to achieve this status. Beneath the founding year, a staircase symbol represents the first step in science and education, specifically language learning and teaching.

    The new logo will undoubtedly serve as a symbol of the faculty's future development and progressive direction. This innovation is not only a visual change but also an effective way to convey the faculty’s main tasks and values in a new format. The meaning and symbols embedded in the logo highlight the faculty’s mission in language teaching and education, its contribution at the international level, and its future achievements.

    The new logo of the Faculty of Pre-University Education will strengthen its position in the global education system and provide new momentum for the faculty's development.
