SDG 13. Combating climate change

PhD, senior lecturer of the Department of Theoretical and Nuclear Physics Zaripova Yu.A., completed the online Coursera course on "The Sustainability Imperative". The course examined the importance of sustainable development and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The main focus was on energy, in particular, electricity generation, highlighting it as the main cause of climate change. Ways to reduce carbon dioxide emissions have been explored, for example by switching from coal and natural gas to renewable energy sources such as wind and solar. The practical tasks were devoted to calculating the carbon footprint when using various energy sources (coal, natural gas or renewable energy sources).
