"Әпке": Theater as a Mirror of Society and a Path to Gender Equality

16 february, 2025

February 15, 2025 аs part of cultural education for students and in support of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 5: "Achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls"), Senior Lecturer M.A. Abdulzhanova and first-year students of the "Microbiology" program organized a trip to the theater to watch the play "Әпке".

This play raises important issues related to the role of women in the family and society, self-sacrifice, gender stereotypes, and inequality. The story of the main character makes us reflect on the challenges women face when their fate is determined by societal norms, pushing their dreams and personal desires into the background.

After the performance, students discussed gender roles, the balance between family responsibilities and personal ambitions, and the importance of equal opportunities for women and men. Culture and art serve as powerful tools for rethinking social norms and promoting gender equality.

"Әпке" is not just a theatrical performance; it is another opportunity to reflect on women's rights and their role in modern society. We continue to support initiatives that contribute to the empowerment of all women and girls, as gender equality is the key to a fair and harmonious society.
