KazNU and the National Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed a memorandum

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the National Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan have signed an agreement on mutual cooperation
The goal is to deepen the partnership between the educational institution and the academy.
This agreement was signed by Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev and President of the National Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Zhumagulov.
In the future, both sides will not only implement common scientific projects within the framework of the memorandum, but also organize joint international conferences, symposiums and meetings. The academy's scientists will also oversee the scientific work of KazNU doctoral students.
"The National Academy of Engineering has more than 200 doctors of technical sciences. In the future, members of the academy will work closely with university scientists and promote scientific projects to the market", - said Bakytzhan Zhumagulov.
During the visit to KazNU, a delegation led by the President of the National Academy of Engineering visited the scientific centers and laboratories of the university, where they got acquainted with the results of innovative projects implemented by scientists.
The delegation included: Vice-President of the Academy Amandyk Tuleshov, Academician Tynysbek Kalmenov, General Director of the Scientific and Production Center of Microbiology and Virology, Professor Amangeldy Sadanov, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Alma Abylkasymova, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Grigory Moon, Professor Aidarkhan Kaltaev, heads of universities and research institutes, prominent academicians.
First, the honored guests visited the newly opened scientific center "Sustainable Development and Rational Use of Natural Resources" at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management. The Center conducts environmental monitoring, which includes 10 scientific laboratories. Specialists here work in the following areas: analysis of water quality, soil, tourism, geodesy, landscapes.
Then the members of the delegation visited the Kazakh-Chinese laboratory "Technology and Application of Remote Sensing" and got acquainted with the main functions of the supercomputer installed in KazNU. The most powerful supercomputer in Central Asia was delivered to the university as part of an agreement between President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping. It is included in the list of the 600 best supercomputers in the world. The high-tech device increases the efficiency and accuracy of scientific research, significantly expanding the university's computing capabilities. It is also used to develop artificial intelligence technologies, software for solving and creating complex calculations, managing and organizing IoT facilities, and managing Smart technology facilities.
The honored guests also visited the "Farabi Hub" Center for Innovative Products and High-Tech Projects, which was built in honor of the university's 90th anniversary. In the hub, academics were informed about the results of the scientific work of laboratories and centers, and they talked about innovative projects of scientists.
The specialists of the Farabi Robotics Center also demonstrated to the members of the delegation the achievements in the development and implementation of robotic systems for various industries. The Center for Engineering Competencies in the field of Industrial robotics and Robotization was established as part of a World Bank project. Robots of the famous German company "KUKA" are on display.
