Conservation of flora and fauna biodiversity for sustainable development

As part of the teaching practice and in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG-15), an educational hour was held on 26 February 2025 on the theme «Stop the loss of biodiversity and natural habitats».

The event was organised under the guidance of the Head of the Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources, PhD, Associate Professor Nurmakhanova A.S., and Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Pedagogy and Educational Management A.B. Alchimbayeva, as well as doctoral students of the 1st year (Abdildanov D., Kenzhebayeva J., Urazalina A., Ussen S.) in the specialty «8D05108 – Geobotany». The educational hour was held on the basis of the Institute of Botany and Phytointroduction, and it was actively attended by doctoral students of KazNU, staff of the Institute of Botany and Phytointroduction and students of the university.

The participants actively discussed important issues related to supporting sustainable development and developed recommendations to address this issue.

At the end of the event, specialists of the Institute of Botany and Phytointroduction – Head of the Laboratory of plant world cadastre PhD Osmonali B.B. and senior researcher of the Laboratory of Plant World Cadastre Kenesbay A.H. – spoke about modern innovative methods of biodiversity conservation. The participants also discussed modern methods of biodiversity conservation. They expressed their gratitude to the organisers and students for their active involvement in protecting the natural balance and preventing biodiversity loss. At the end of the meeting, it was emphasised that caring for nature and conserving biodiversity is a civic duty of every human being.
