Let's get acquainted with ballet art in Kazakhstan

Сurators of foreign students of the Department of Language and General Education Training of Foreigners of the Faculty of Pre-University Education of KazNU named after Al-Farabi Aitpayeva A.S. (group 6) and Yakubaeva K.S. (group 10) in the framework of SDG 17 “Get interested in culture and art of different countries” held an educational event “Let's get acquainted with ballet art in Kazakhstan”. Mentors told Chinese and Korean students about the Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abay in Almaty, introduced them to the theater culture and repertoire of the theater. Most Chinese students had never been to ballets and operas before, had no idea what rules exist when visiting the theater, for example, the need to hand over outer clothes in the checkroom, that it is not allowed to enter the hall with drinks and food. In addition, there were discussions about what clothes one should or should not wear to the theater. This information was helpful to the students. Students learned about the plan to visit the Opera and Ballet Theater with a mentor in early February. They actively supported this idea, so tickets were bought in advance. Students with their mentors attended an evening of one-act ballets “Chopiniana, Bach, Bolero” at the Abay Opera and Ballet Theater. Students, familiar with ballet art, expressed their admiration for the talent of the dancers and musicians. At intermission, the students enjoyed taking pictures in the theater. The next day, the curators discussed with the students their first step to get acquainted with art in Kazakhstan, Students thanked the curators for their new knowledge and impressions.
