KazNU student won gold at the Judo Grand Prix tournament

A second-year student at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, renowned Kazakh judoka Abiba Abuzhakynova, won a gold medal in the 48 kg weight category at the Judo Grand Prix tournament in Linz, Austria.

In the final match, the athlete defeated Japanese judoka Sachiyo Yoshino with a score of 10-1.

Before the final, she won against Mizuki Harada (Japan), Jacqueline Springer (Austria), and Amber Harseyes (Netherlands).

Abiba Abuzhakynova is a two-time bronze medalist at the World Championship, a two-time silver medalist at the Asian Championship, and a silver medalist at the Asian Games.

The World Tournament features around 500 athletes from 52 countries, including 16 athletes from Kazakhstan.
