Young Scientist Aisha Taskuzhina Received a Housing Certificate on Behalf of the President of Kazakhstan

The young scientists of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University were ceremoniously presented with the keys to their apartments on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. During the event, dedicated to International Women's Day, the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek, proudly presented a housing certificate to Aisha Taskuzhina, a doctoral student from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics. The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics sincerely congratulates our talented colleague on her important achievement — obtaining her own home!
Aisha Taskuzhina is a junior researcher at the Molecular Biology Laboratory of the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology of Plants and a second-year doctoral student in the “Genetics” program at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Her scientific research is focused on the study of the wild apple tree Malus sieversii, the ancestor of modern apple varieties. As part of her work, Aisha investigates the genetic diversity and population structure of this species and evaluates its resistance to various phytopathogens.
Aisha's research is aimed at preserving the genetic resources of the wild apple tree and identifying valuable traits that can be used for the selection of resistant varieties. In addition, she works on molecular diagnostics of viral plant diseases using advanced high-throughput sequencing and bioinformatics analysis techniques.
We wish her continued success in science!
