Curatorial hour dedicated to "March 1- Gratitude Day"

3 march, 2025

On March1, 2025, at 3 pm., a curatorial hour dedicated to "March 1- Gratitude Day" was held in office 414.

The purpose of the event: to familiarize with the Kazakh holiday about "March 1- Gratitude Day" and to explain its significance.

The first-year students gave a presentation dedicated to "March 1 – Gratitude Day." They explained the significance of this day. Then, the curator spoke about the importance of Kazakhstan as a multinational state. She highlighted the forced relocation of small ethnic groups and people of different nationalities deemed "unreliable" to Kazakhstan during the Great Patriotic War. These displaced people found themselves in extremely difficult conditions. Without water or food, they were sent to the steppe in freight wagons, facing the threat of death. Among them were Koreans, Germans, Chechens, Ukrainians, Russians, and other nationalities. However, the Kazakh people showed great kindness, sharing their last pieces of bread and milk, helping them survive.

On Gratitude Day, these ethnic groups express deep appreciation to Kazakhstan for its support in those challenging times. However, these communities have also made a significant contribution to the country’s development. For example, Koreans played a crucial role in developing rice farming in Kazakhstan, significantly advancing the agricultural sector. Other nationalities contributed greatly to the growth of industry, science, and culture.

Gratitude Day is not only a time to honor history but also a moment to express appreciation to our parents, friends, and teachers.
