The master's students' project from KazNU received an award in China

The project "Breast Defender – a system for predicting metastases of tumors and diseases" developed by the master's students of KazNU and the branch of the Northwestern Polytechnical University of China, won a silver medal at the XIV International Student Entrepreneurship Project Competition "Challenge Cup" in China, as part of the "Belt and Road" initiative.

This competition became a large-scale scientific contest, with over 2,700 universities and colleges from more than 60 countries participating, showcasing over 390,000 entrepreneurial projects involving more than 3 million students. The project presented by the master's students, "Breast Defender – a wearable system for predicting metastases of tumors and diseases" was among the winners, earning a silver medal at this innovative competition.

The project was led by PhD, Senior Lecturer Bazarghul Matkerim and PhD, Associate Professor Beimbet Daribaev (KazNU named after al-Farabi, Department of Computer Science), as well as PhD, Professor Zhang Yu and PhD, Professor Pan Lei (Northwestern Polytechnical University, China).

The team included second-year master's students from the "Computer Science and Technology" program at the branch of Northwestern Polytechnical University of China: Murat Bolysbek, Gauhar Isaeva, Amir Toregali, and second-year master's student from the "Computer Engineering" program at the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Information Technologies, Nurtugan Azatbekuly.

This innovative project aims to detect breast cancer at an early stage using a specially designed device focused on real-time monitoring and enhancing diagnostic accuracy through artificial intelligence technologies.
