Körisu Day at the Faculty of History: Honoring National Traditions

Within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals program, on March 14, 2025, Körisu Day (Amal holiday) was held at the Faculty of History of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, organized by the faculty members.
The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor D.S. Baigunakov, Candidate of Historical Sciences, senior lecturers of the Department of History of Kazakhstan Zh.M. Arynov, Ye.N. Noyanov, as well as staff of the Dean's office and students.
In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty D.S. Baigunakov noted that the Körisu holiday is an ancient national tradition of the Kazakh people and the beginning of the celebration of Nauryz. On this day, people meet each other, congratulate each other on the safe end of winter and the arrival of the new year. Those who have not seen each other for a long time meet, wish good health, forgive grievances, leave the old year behind and step into the new year with good hopes. The Dean also emphasized the importance of increasing respect for the national heritage of our country and passing it on to future generations.
