The event was organized by S.V. Tilvaldyeva, a first-year doctoral student in the "Genetics" program at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics. Scientific advisors: Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. K. Bisenbaev, PhD A. K. Kuanbai.

On March 12, 2025, an open laboratory session was held as part of a pedagogical practice, dedicated to the topic "Genetic Code: The Language of Life and Sustainable Development." The event was attended by third-year students who had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in the fields of molecular biology, genetics, and biotechnology.

The session focused on a detailed analysis of the fundamental aspects of the genetic code, its role in regulating biological processes, and modern genome editing methods. Particular attention was given to the practical application of genetic technologies in various scientific fields and their connection to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being – analyzing the potential of gene therapy, personalized medicine, and molecular diagnostics.

The practical part included solving topic-related problems and studying the protocol for preparing a special gel for further result interpretation. Participants also discussed the ethical and legal aspects of using gene editing technologies. Students actively engaged in problem-solving tasks, which not only reinforced their acquired knowledge but also provided an opportunity to discuss potential research directions.
