NATIONAL SPORTS – OUR NATIONAL HERITAGE!

On March 20, 2025, on the eve of the Nauryz holiday, the Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a special event titled «National Sports Day» with the participation of first-year students majoring in «Economics» and «Digital Economy».

This event was initiated with the support of the HSEB Dean G.R. Daulieva and was aimed at promoting SDG 3 – «Good Health and Well-being.» During the event, students took part in traditional Kazakh games such as Togyzkumalak, asyk (knucklebone) tossing, and tug-of-war. They also shared their thoughts on the health benefits of national sports and their cultural and spiritual significance within the context of physical education and Kazakh heritage.

The «National Sports Day» not only celebrated traditional games but also fostered respect and interest among youth in preserving national heritage. Winners of the competition were recognized as follows: Togyzkumalak game:
1st place–Sezim Bolgabai, 2nd place – Kairat Edilbek, 3rd place – Alibek Kydyrbek;  Asyk tossing – winner: Alikhan Otemurat; Arm wrestling – winner: Abdisalan Slamkhanuly.
