A round table dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Professor Nurtai Tormanov, a professor at the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine, and Neuroscience of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology at KazNU, was held under the theme "Forms and Methods of Teaching Biology, Interdisciplinary Connections, and the Application of Modern Innovative Approaches”

The goal of the round table was to discuss modern forms and methods of teaching biology that combine traditional and modern educational technologies. Opportunities for introducing innovative methods into the educational process through interdisciplinary dialogue between researchers and practitioners in the fields of biophysics, biomedicine, and neuroscience were explored.

The event was attended by the faculty members of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, as well as scientists and researchers. During the event, the gathered scholars and educators congratulated Professor Nurtai Tormanov on his 85th birthday.
Nurtai Tormanov is a professor at the Department of Biophysics and Biomedicine at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and a candidate of biological sciences. He is a two-time "Excellence in Education" awardee of the Republic of Kazakhstan and an "Honored Worker of Education" of Kazakhstan. He has written over 200 scientific and methodological articles, 18 teaching aids and textbooks, and won the "Best Educational Publication" nomination at KazNU in 2014. Over the past 10 years, he has mentored more than 30 master's students and contributed to their professional development. He has also given several lectures and interviews on biological and physiological sciences and promoting a healthy lifestyle through the national press and the "Khabar Agency" television network's educational channel, "Innovative Platform."

Those who came to offer special congratulations noted that they regard Nurtai Tormanov as a scholarly figure of profound thought, emphasizing that his deep knowledge, great wisdom, and firm scientific principles serve as an excellent role model for the younger generation. At the end of the event, he was awarded the silver badge of KazNU.
