Educational event titled “Greening Scientific Research: Principles of Green Chemistry.”

On March 17, 2025, within the framework of their teaching practice, first-year doctoral students of the "8D05301–Chemistry" educational program from the Department of Analytical, Colloid Chemistry and Technology of Rare Elements (Tursun K.M.), the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis and Petrochemistry (Alikeeva A.E.), and the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Organic Substances, Natural Compounds, and Polymers (Dubrovskiy V.A.) conducted an educational event for second-year undergraduate students of the "6B05301–Chemistry" program on the topic “Greening Scientific Research: Principles of Green Chemistry.”
The main goal of the event was to introduce students to the concept of green chemistry, to increase their interest in innovative chemical technologies and research methods, and to foster a careful attitude toward human health and the environment. During the event, key topics such as the development of environmentally friendly research methods in chemistry, renewable energy sources, and the prospects of green energy in Kazakhstan were discussed. The issues raised correspond to SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy, and SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities.
In addition to the educational session, doctoral students Tursun K.M. and Alikeeva A.E. conducted a public survey on the use of green chemistry principles in daily life and environmental protection, which is one of the key principles of the Sustainable Development Goals.
