They discussed issues related to the preservation of Turkic languages

At Al-Farabi KazNU, the international roundtable discussion "Era and Personality: Linguistic Representation of Creative Types of Storytellers and Kazakhstani Researchers" was held, dedicated to the 190th anniversary of Sh. Sh. Ualikhanov and the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
The event was held as part of the scientific project "Turkic Languages of Kazakhstan in the Context of the Spiritual Modernization of Society: From Graphics to Epic Text" under the Grant Funding Program for Scientific and Scientific-Technical Projects for 2024-2026 of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The organizers were the Research Institute of Turkology and Altaic Studies and the Scientific Library of Al-Farabi KazNU.
The moderator of the event was Mendyganym Shaimerdenova, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the International Academy of Informatization (MAIN), Member of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan (ANK), Member of the Expert Advisory Board of ANK, and Professor at the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social Sciences at Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts.
She emphasized that the roundtable aimed to facilitate the exchange of experience and opinions on the trends in the development of the humanities as a factor in improving the quality of education, the scientific linguistic school, and the integration of education, science, and practical activities.
In the countries of the Turkic world, language is a symbol of national sovereignty and unity, and despite the risks associated with globalization and active urbanization, the younger generation is actively participating in the creation of various programs for the preservation and revival of native languages.
This fall, Al-Farabi KazNU is set to host the III International Forum "Ethnolinguistic Diversity and Turkic Heritage", within which events will be held for the professional development of teachers, educators, and doctoral students in cultural diplomacy.
Reports on current topics in modern linguistics were also presented by: Doctor of Philology, Professor at the Department of Intercultural Communication of Tyumen Industrial University Saltanat Makasheva (Russia); Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor, Board Member – Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, Member of the Expert Advisory Board of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan Mainura Buribayeva; Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor, Senior Researcher at the Zhambyl Center for the Study of Kazakh Folklore and Literature at Al-Farabi KazNU Kairat Zhanabayev, and others.
The roundtable participants discussed important issues related to Turkic languages, culture, linguistic contacts, and research conducted by scholars working in this field.
