Biodiversity Conservation: Ecosystem Restoration through the Planting of Sievers Apple Trees

On March 26, 2025, the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Development at Al-Farabi KazNU, as part of the ALMA-KIKA project, organized the planting of 50 seedlings of the Tian Shan endemic species, Sievers apple tree, in the Butakov Gorge of Ile-Alatau National Park.

Our partners, "Jerdin Dostary," and the staff of Ile-Alatau National Park also took part in the event.

This initiative aims to preserve biodiversity, restore ecosystems, and promote Kazakhstan's natural heritage.
