At the end of March 2025, senior lecturers of the Department of Language and General Education for Foreigners, namely Kazmagambetova A.S., Kurmanova T.V., and Nurakhunova A.S., conducted a curatorial hour on the topic: “Stop HIV, Tuberculosis” for international students of groups 2 and 15, as part of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The objective of this event was to inform international students about the characteristics and prevention of tuberculosis, as well as the methods and measures to combat it.
The tasks included:
- Providing accurate information regarding the transmission routes of tuberculosis, the process of screening for the disease, safe behaviors, and the possibilities for preventing infection;
- Equipping students with the skills and measures necessary for the prevention and caution against tuberculosis infection.
The advisory curators educated the students about tuberculosis, its sources and transmission pathways, the factors influencing the development of the disease, and the severe comorbidities associated with it (such as HIV, diabetes, peptic ulcers, among others).
In conclusion, the advisors emphasized the importance of adhering to tuberculosis prevention measures, maintaining personal hygiene, and leading a healthy lifestyle.
