Cultural Partnership Between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Balkan History Association Within the Framework of Sustainable Development Goals

Representatives of the Department of Archaeology, еthnology, and museology at the History Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a meeting with Mihai Dragnea, President of the Balkan History Association, and Dorina Dragnea, Vice-President, within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The meeting aimed to strengthen the university’s partnership with the association. Discussions focused on potential future collaboration in researching the culture and historical heritage of Kazakhstan and Central Asia, as well as fostering connections with the Balkans and the broader Eastern European region.

This initiative primarily aligns with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, as it seeks to contribute to sustainable development through international cooperation and joint projects. Additionally, with a strong emphasis on academic research and knowledge exchange, it partially supports SDG 4: Quality Education. The meeting was attended by Rinat Zhumatayev, Head of the Department, Meruert Egizbayeva, Deputy Head for Educational Affairs, and Professors Tattigul Kartayeva and Ainur Beisegulova, who actively participated in the exchange of ideas aimed at advancing these objectives.
