“NATIONAL VALUES ARE THE MAIN KEY OF EDUCATION”

On April 3, 2025, within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal No. 4:  "Quality Education", the event  on the topic: “NATIONAL VALUES ARE THE MAIN KEY OF EDUCATION” was held. The    first-year students of the Kazakh and Russian departments of the Physics and Technology Faculty and the Faculty of Journalism of the Al-Farabi  Kazakh National University took part in the event.

At the IV National Congress held in Burabay on March 14, 2025, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev raised important issues related to national values ​​and national costumes. He noted the need to preserve and develop national values, and noted that national costumes have a special place in our cultural heritage. According to the President, national costumes are a reflection of the rich history and culture of our people, therefore, by promoting them and using them in everyday life, we can strengthen our national identity.

In the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi was held a festive event dedicated to the holiday Nauryz. As part of the holiday, students and teachers got acquainted with the traditions of celebrating Nauryz, took part in theatrical and musical performances.

The official part opened with the blessing of Kydyr Ata.  Within the framework of the event the students of the 1st year made a presentation about Kazakh traditions, national costumes, art and culture was presented in English.  Mansur Saifullah, a student from Bangladesh, made a presentation in English about the Pohela Boishakh holiday celebrated in his country. Interesting quizzes related to national values and traditions were also organised for the participants.

The guests were fascinated by a theatrical performance in which the students demonstrated the traditions of the Kazakh people. The highlight of the evening was the musical performances ‘Yerke Sylkym’,  Terme, Verse Қазақ Елі, songs (in Kazakh and Ukrainian languages) and national dances. The final chord was  the song ‘Atameken’ created a festive mood.

Nauryz is a holiday symbolising unity, friendship and harmony. Holding such events makes a significant contribution to the preservation and development of cultural heritage, strengthening friendship between peoples.
