On March 28, 2025, the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized an iftar in honor of the national holiday – Nauryz. The event was arranged by senior lecturers of the department, Mazhen Yernar and PhD Mukhan Nurzat, along with Baizhuma Samet, who contributed significantly to ensuring the evening’s high level of organization.
The main goal of the iftar was to experience the blessings of the holy month of Ramadan, strengthen solidarity and brotherhood among students and faculty, and promote national values. Both Ramadan and Nauryz symbolize spiritual purity, unity, and kindness. In this regard, the event provided participants with a deeper understanding of the importance of piety, hospitality, virtue, and charity.
During the iftar, discussions were held on the spiritual aspects of Nauryz, its deep connection with Kazakh traditions, and its significance in Islamic culture. Additionally, themes such as performing good deeds during the holy month, mutual assistance, patience, and gratitude were explored.
