On April 4, 2025, within the framework of the International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists "FARABI ALEMI" and in the context of achieving Sustainable Development Goal 6 "Clean Water and Sanitation", a master class was held on the topic "Special use of aquatic ecosystem resources in Kazakhstan: from theory to practice".
The speaker of the event was Bizhanova G.Z., a specialist in design and standardization in the field of environmental protection at KazEkoanalytika LLP. The master class was organized under the guidance of the Faculty of the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University: Candidate of Technical Sciences, Senior lecturer. Kurbanova L.S., Candidate of Biological Sciences, Acting Professor Mukanova G.A., Candidate of Technical Sciences, senior lecturer. Tusupova B.H. and the teacher Sarsenbaeva G.B.
The master class was aimed at raising awareness of the participants about the process of obtaining a permit for special water use in Kazakhstan. During the lesson, the legal, environmental and technical requirements were explained in detail, as well as recommendations on the correct preparation of the necessary documentation.
The participants of the Ecology specialty were presented with key concepts and knowledge in the field of water use: types of water use rights, categories of water users, as well as cases in which special permits are required.
Special attention was paid to the stages of obtaining a permit, the procedure for submitting an application, the list of necessary documents and the timing of their consideration. The participants also mastered the skills of correctly filling out applications, keeping records of water consumption and sanitation, and also got acquainted with the procedures for reissuing, suspending and terminating rights to special water use.
The master class was an important contribution to the training of future specialists in the field of ecology, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and practical skills. The ability to correctly draw up documents and take into account the use of water resources is an integral part of the professional competence of an ecologist and an important element in ensuring sustainable and safe water use. This, in turn, contributes to the preservation of the environment and the improvement of the ecological situation in the country.
