Participation of the Professor of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology in the Development of the Educational Module on Integrated Water Resources Management in Central Asia

From February 24 to March 14, 2025, Dr. of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology at the Faculty of Geography and Nature Management of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Duskayev K. participated in the working group that developed an educational module on "Integrated Water Resources Management in Central Asia". The event was held at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg in Halle, Germany, and was organized by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in partnership with Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.

The educational module aims to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of sustainable water resources management, which is particularly important for the countries of Central Asia facing unique ecological and hydrological challenges. During the group's work, strategies and methods of integrated water resources management, as well as approaches to addressing issues related to water scarcity and climate change, were discussed.

The participation of the KazNU professor in this initiative represents a significant contribution to the development of international cooperation in the field of water resources management, particularly in the context of Central Asia. The development of the educational module will contribute to the preparation of qualified specialists who can effectively address current water resource challenges in the face of climate change and growing demand for water resources. This is an important step towards the sustainable development of the region and supports the implementation of SDG 6 "Clean Water and Sanitation," aimed at ensuring universal access to water resources, improving water quality and water supply, as well as effective water management.
